Leisure:

Waipipi Beach is ideally suited for a range of leisure activities. The beach is flat and safe for swimming, with easy drive on access to launch a boat. The fishing and offshore reef diving are some of the most prolific in New Zealand.

The reservoir provides a safe environment for kayaking, small yachts, rowing, swimming and the jetty provides hours of fun for children of all ages.  There is an area beside the reservoir and jetty that has been set aside for a community park.  In addition there is a walkway which follows the Wairoa Stream through the riparian reserve.

There are extensive coastal walks along the beach and the cliff tops that allow you to explore this unique and diverse environment as well as discover the many secluded beaches located along the coast within easy walking distance of Waipipi.  Whether your motivation is exercise, taking in the views, romance or just watching the sun go down you will never tire of the varied walks the area offers.

In addition, there are many other leisure pursuits located within 5 minutes of Waipipi.  These include the 18 hole Waverley golf course, Luptons Lake, a water skiing mecca for the locals as well as the many facilities and sports clubs available in Waverley.

As Waipipi is adjacent to a large tract of rural land, this also provides additional opportunities for section purchasers.  Horse riding, hunting with the Egmont Wanganui Hunt Club whose kennels are five minutes from Waipipi, mountain biking, kite boarding on the privately owned coastal lake just 1 km from Waipipi are some of the activities supported by the surrounding farmland.

Waipipi offers something to suit the whole family as well as your friends and visitors.
